it doesn't look like a termite, the wing structure is wrong and I only see 1 set.
It kind of looks like an ant but my guess is that it is an ants more primitive cousin, a wasp.
There are plenty of solitary wasps that eat wood and there are plenty of social wasps that build nests out of mulched wood.

I know what a wasp is, I have killed many of them. But this one was smaller than a housefly and bigger than an ant.
The wing structure looked likw that of a termite swarmer.
I couldnt find any holes in the furniture.
