My cat of 8 months is still sucking on my ear, is this normal?

Its somewhat normal, especially in cats adpoted before they are 3 months old like yours. She thinks you are her mom.

So I adopted a cat that is going to weigh 35 to 40 pounds. She does the ear suck thing too still.

yeah most cats that get separated from their mums that age will do this forever.

Maine Coons will maybe get half that big. If you found it in a snow bank, it's not a Maine Coon.
