i'll be going home for spring break and i want to start a small frog pond in my backyard

do i actually need a ton of shit like a pond shell, liner, filters, etc...? my ultimate goal is to slowly introduce small predators to breed strong frogs that can kill snakes and lizards. eventually different animals would battle it out for control of the pond

Dig a hole, get a tarp with no holes, and use a hose or something and spray more water in it everyday or few days or something if you want it to be cheap. Or make a homemade filter from a cheap aquarium circulation pump and a two liter bottle full of poly fill from arts and crafts section.

Also duck weed and other plants you can find in ponds and lakes around you will help with water quality.

I guess if its close to your home, you'll want it away from sleeping quarters or you'll be hearing them caterwaul all summer.
