Dog people are fucked in the head "muh baby wouldn't kill a thing" "I know he killed my child but I love this dog! I'm a dog person!" "I don't care statistics prove that I'll be mauled by my own dog or he will maul someone else once in its lifetime! I'm a dog person!"
>>

Let me guess: shit bull?
>>
>>2329092
No it was a Labrador. They got him when I was born. My brother was playing with some blocks and i was playing my sega. The dog comes around the corner and grabs my brother by the necks and carries him away and I'm screaming for my mom. She tried but it was too late. She called the police and tried to say someone else's dog attacked him but I told the police it was our dog and she started screaming as animal control came and tried to pull the dog from her.
>>
>>2329095
>tried to say someone else's dog attacked him
What... I mean, why? How can somebody who just lost a child still be that protective towards the pet that literally killed it? Apart from reasonable anger, there should also be deep-rooted instincts trying to avenge the child. My trust in biology is confused
>>
>>2329082
but anon, human life has no intrinsic worth
>>
>>2329098
I don't know. I'm guessing because my dad left her after he was born and the dog was my dads. So she associated my brother with bad and the dog with my dad maybe? She would hit him every now and then for no reason and I would grab him and hide in my room with the door locked and cheered him up.
>>
>>2329098
Instincts are not a be-all end-all thing, anon.

I've heard stories of some other dog owners who've tried protecting their vicious dog in the same way. I don't understand the mentality that makes it happen, though. If a pet attacked a family member like that, I don't think I could ever trust that animal again.

>have young pup, red cattle dog/fox terrier that mum rescued from cunt neighbors
>she's a real little bro, remarkably intelligent and a lot of fun as all pups are
>we're camping with extended family
>set up my swag (Australian, like a canvas sleeping bag) under the tree my pup is tied to so she has company
>it's warm weather, she's comfortable curled up on top of the swag, she has mattress under her and we can feel each others weight and warmth through the canvas and sleeping bag
>in the night it starts to rain, I'm good and don't notice because my head is covered (swags are fucking amazing, btw)
>pupper starts to whine a little, she's getting cold
>I wake up and let her crawl inside the swag with me
>she immediately burrows down by my thigh and curls up next to it
>no idea how she can breathe down there under canvas but she's a dog and apparently they can do that shit
>we both fall fast asleep
>in morning she's up by my shoulder chewing on expensive headphone cable which is in pieces
>I'm not even mad because she was so cute and innocent

I still think that night was one of our best bonding moments. She's a good doggo now.

Nothing really expensive, multiple dogs I have had over the years tend to ruin my bikes.
Actually my whole family hated my bikes, my family would ride it and leave it outside or my father would hate it taking up room in the shed and leave it outside.

Most my dog did was chew the mudguards, brakes or handle bars but leaving the bikes out in the rained ruined them.

I was gifted a €300 mountain bike that some fat dude was going to use to get in shape but rode it once.
I got it in the winter and was going to wait until the summer until I was going to ride it but my father left it outside because it was taking up room and the dog ate most of it.

Thankfully his latest dog eat his lawn mower cord and right after he replaced it he ate it again.

My dog destroyed the soft top on my dad's Porsche. We left him in the garage for about an hour and a half during a thunderstorm because he would freak out when we weren't there during any type of storm and figured he couldn't do too much damage in there.

>>
>>2329687
It was a mutt dog, perhaps some ridgeback judging by size and colour.

Dad prefers to shoot our animals as opposed to a lethal injection by vet. It was always instant (he's an excellent shot, particularly from 1m away kek) and he could ensure the animal was relaxed until the end, rather than in a strange place on a cold metal table.

Our labrador thought she was hunting in the bush (woods) again, was walking around sniffing and wagging her tail, despite her pain and limp.

Dad only refuses to shoot horses for this purpose. He finds it a little traumatic, I suppose.

Not much and anything they did destroy was my fault. Like leaving hanging ear bugs off the side of my desk, put down something too close to the rat cage when I had rats, etc. I was pretty pissed when they chewed up a $60 jacket which back then might as well been a new car to me. Didn't really matter since it ended up full of holes from wearing it so much working outside.

My friends dog chewed through my laptop charger and insisted it was my fault though. Despite the dog wasn't allowed in that room in the first place, he said the dog has never done it before and I must have spilled something on it even though I don't even drink water near it. Bastard didn't even replace it. He raised hell about it when I didn't ask and wasn't even upset since it was just an old $30 cord.
>>
>>2329973
No because
>The dog comes around the corner and grabs my brother by the necks and carries him away

Doesn't make a lot of sense. A dog picking up ~ 60 lbs of weight and just carrying it of sounds suspicious. Add that the 60lbs is going to be flailing and screaming along with the brother freaking out and it doesn't seem likely that it just carried it off.

And a dog trying to carry something away when it's in the middle of attacking it doesn't seem likely either.

I'm disappointed I have to explain bait on 4chan of all places.

So dog can take credit when they do something cool like saving kids from mountain lions, but whenever they do something horrid they get a free pass because they are dogs?

They are not reptiles, they have much higher comprehension.
If it was say a cat, that would be forgivable because it might get triggered into hunting mode, but it was a human, and dog's not only have a brain to understand humans, they comprehend the difference between child, adult, woman, man.
