Ask the new owner of a Goliath bird eating tarantula Theraphosa blondi anything also anyone have tips raising this particular species I've owned Ts in the past but this is my first tropical species.
forgot to mention its still rather young its a little bigger than a half dollar coin i mist its enclosure twice a day have a heat lamp so its at 78 degrees Fahrenheit most of the time and have sphagnum moss also in the enclosure
Can you actually hold that shit on your hand like it's no big deal?

actually many are way too nervous and defensive to be held but there are some I never plan on handling mine

Post pics.

be as anal as humanly possible with the humidity levels, these guys are SO fucking fragile. used to help a family friend with her breeding business and these fuckers are so hard to keep she gave up on trying after a while

The OP would not know. This is the first one owned and its super tiny right now. The pic is just what he thinks about while masturbating.

>the Floridian and can probably keep one in a room where the a/c is turned off and that would be it

Theraphosas tend to be skittish/aggressive.
I've heard Stirmis are way chill tho, at least compared to blondi and apophysis
also, that little guy is small time.

>florida
>the only state where you can go on a walk and find both a tarantula and a gun
>>2316468
That's the least odd thing you can find around here to be honest
>>2316474
A bit of an in-joke with a Floridian friend of mine. He was out on a walk and found a gun in a ditch. Then he just kept it in his room until his mom found out and flipped out at him.
I give him shit about it all the time just because of how dumb he was about it.
>>2316478
hey, if it was in good condition, I woulda kept it.
>>2316485
Same here, but he didn't know anything about how to operate it, or if it had a serial number (so he could legally own it and sell it). He's not a dumb guy, which is why I think he could have handled it better.
>>2316488
Alright, do me a favor and never post that image again
>>2316488
I'm printing that out and putting it in a tiny picture frame into my tarantula's terrarium
>>2316029
Oh they get way bigger than that
what is the biggest spider that is not aggressive
>>2316770
what a shitty question
>>2316772
answer me
>>2316770
I believe tarantulas are not really that aggressive (?)
But the big fuckers here in Aus are the huntsmans. They get damn big but I odn't think they're very aggressive, and they can't harm humans. They still scare the shit outta me though.

IChaco Golden Knee Tarantula (Grammostola Pulchripes) gets around nine inches and is very docile.
Salmon Pink Birdeater (Lasiodora parahybana) rivals the Goliath, and though some specimens are skittish and even defensive, most I've met are very docile.
Thaeraphosas a cute
