General turtle thread

every species of freshwater turtle in the great lakes is at risk except for painted turtles.
Even snappers recently got put on the list, and there's calls to stop snapping turtle hunts...which I didn't think were that big in Canada.
Turtles are adorable.
Turtles are entertaining to watch and can be chill as fuck. Pic related is mine

I've got a tortoise. They got a sample off him and it turns out he's older than the earth's sun.
swam with a pod of them a mile off the coast snorkelling in mexico. Pic related, i took it.

Was it magically whilst swimming with a school of turts?
>>2315182
It was a kind of sad magic because just being in the water you can tell they're not going to be around much longer. I got most of a semi when one brushed by me.

heres another pic for yall
Are tortoises hard to look after/very time consuming? Do many places need a license for them or is aus just being cucked as usual? The only thing we can really get here are long-neck turtles.

K had a wild gopher turtle wander into my yard the other day and their waddle is too funny.
Turtles are super cool.
