I'm building a tank that's about 1x3x1ft. Is that good enough to house one cardisoma armatum? I know they get big, but there isn't much information on them or how to set up their tank other than keep it warm and have land and water in it. If cardisoma armatum won't work, I may just get some hermit crabs or maybe a tank for just fiddler crabs, which I've never done before. What do you guys think?

Ive had experience with rainbows, vampire and fiddler crabs.
Rainbows are definitely more active and interesting to keep. I've had them on 70/30 land and water, ambient temp about 75f (heat matt).

Seems a little cramped for a crab that large, but I don't have experience with them.
Gecarcinus quadratus and some Geosesarma species have similar looks and stay smaller. Geosesarma are predodminantly aquatic, whereas G. quadratus is predominantly terrestrial, if that makes a difference.

How are thai devil crabs? The petco here has them but there's no info on their care and online resources are lacking.

>thai devil crabs
Can you post a picture that looks similar to what your Petco has? I'm not familiar with the name and Google seems to be giving mixed results.

How big should tanks be for the Rainbow crabs? I've kept Halloween crabs before, but I think rainbow crabs eventually get bigger than them.

Like this, they seem to have no info.
