What do you do when dog decides he wants to go to a certain path and refuses to move in the other direction?
>>
You need some paracord.

Tie a smaller honda knot in the paracord at one end to make a slip leash then tie another larger honda to put your hand through as the leash.

When your walking the leash should be loose, when your dog is distracted check the leash with force to corret the dog, its tough love.

When making the correction you need to pull and release immediatly otherwise the animals natural instinct to pull against the leash will kick in, you want to avoid that.

Look up Big Game Indicating Dogs on facebook and the guy explains it alot more eloquently. You will end up with a dog you can have off leash which can follow you around.

How old doggo?

My 15 week puppy walks forever to any direction in forest but in suburbs he tends to stop and sit down to watch people walk by.

In big cities he walks just fine and doesn't care about people, if he wants to pee or poo he starts to stop and sit, same with if the walk has gone on for too long (15-30mins) and he wants to rest or go home. Generally accepts where to go and doesn't want to go certain directions.

But the problem is when it's a pretty quiet street and only one or two people walking around, puppy wants to wait them out.

It's been like this since I got him as 7 week old puppy. Trying to get rid of the "people interest" aka sitting down when seeing somebody walking near us. I asked a dog trainers and they just told to get the dogs attention by voice or treats and try to get them moving and don't let them take notice of the people.

Search kikopup leash training on youtube if you're having issues with pulling. If your dog won't listen to you and won't follow you, you need to work on recall, not leash training. But why is the dog wanting to explore a bad thing? As long as he's behaving and not pulling, I don't see why you wouldn't just let him go where he wants.

>I don't see why you wouldn't just let him go where he wants.

Because the usual path we used to walk is frozen over due to winter weather and is now a slipping hazard.

>tfw my 11 year old dog is so smart and well trained she has never been on a leash

train your dogs well faggots, and when you're on walks let the dog stop and sniff and socialise. you're taking the dog for a walk, why the fuck are you in such a hurry that you need to strangle it everytime it stops.

If it's a puppy, let him sniff around and wait for him to get bored, if it takes too long (say more than 10 minutes or so), carry him away. Puppies are new to this world, they just wanna check out all the new stuff around them, and there's really no harm in that. If it's an older dog, check this out:

I let my dog sniff and socialize.

The problem is that he's demanding that we go to the trail frozen over with ice and refusing to move when I try to take to in another direction.

This is the best advice in the thread, go suck Zak George's cock.
>>
>>2298256
Why all the hate for Zak, sure he is a spastic ADD case but he has good info after his 2min dog food delivery service intro.
>>
Tried the circling trick to get him distracted.

He just moves when I'm at a point I'm moving in the direction he wants to go, moving the circle towards his intended destination.
