Any fellow rat owners out there? Rodent general.
thinking about getting rats again
this cage is for sale on leaf craigslist for $200
>Less than a month old - large and very clean comes with national geographic food bowl and large silent spinner wheel
3 levels
don't get how it's 3 levels but looks pretty nice anyway
should i lowball? or is it a good deal
My rat's brother died so now I have his lone brother, but he's already three years old. I'm not sure whether I should get him more buddies or just wait until he dies but I also don't know if I want more rats at this time. I'd find him a new home but he's on medication for a skin condition that's possibly contagious so I'd have to wait for when/if it clears up either way. I feel so bad for him even though he hangs out with me all the time.

Always offer lower but I don't think it's worth it. It's not three levels either unless they took out another shelf. You'll want to cover the wire bottoms too. I find that they're really easy to cover with linoleum. Easy to clean and not expensive.
Personally for $200 I'd just go with a ferret nation.

This is less than $200 and you get free shipping. It's much larger. It's a good deal for never used.

that's $250 maplebux tho
These are 2 of the 4 rats I¨ve ever had. Both of them dead sadly. Had to put down the grey one on Sunday because of a brain tumor. :/ Rats are amazing tho, so loving and all.

If you get another young one, you'll just get stuck in loop of buying rats to keep them from being lonely
Just for food

I got this cage for 99 dollars online somewhere, so cheap simply because we had to assemble it. Couldn't have done it alone. This things huge.

some say its mean to keep a rat alone, but when it's old it might be better to keep them alone. Get him a buddy, and what if they don't get along? Then your old rat dies and the poor rat you originally bought to keep him company is all alone.

If that's a Martin cage you can definitely put them together yourself. It's not like the bastard c-ring tool is any easier to use with someone else watching you fumble with it.

That cage is a much better value, but if he has does the 1 inch bar spacing will need to be covered with chicken wire. I learned that the hard way when I bought a large guinea pig cage. It should be fine fore bucks though.

That's fucking awful. You could get a new critter nation (same thing as a ferret nation but with bars that are way better for small animals) or a martins cage for that, jesus. Don't even think about paying 200 for that thing.
