Not a picture anon, but my friend got her (now late) dog from a rescue organization. When she went to pick him up, it turned out he was still leaving with his current owner, a frail, elderly man with alzheimers. He was moving to a nursing home, and couldn't bring his dog with him.

He had him all ready to go with his leash, some food and favourite treats. He apologized for the dog being chubby- he could no longer remember if he had fed him or not, so he would always feed him just in case.

His mind was going enough that he could no longer live alone, but he would not forget to make sure his friend did not go hungry as his memory deteriorated.

Here's a pic of my boy from Monday. We drove 45 minutes to a new open space for him to run around. He knew he was going somewhere nice because I put my army blanket in the back of the car and he associates it with good times.

Found a gas station where they were selling giant milkbones for a quarter so he got one of those on the way home. It was a good day for him.

Not exactly related but any happy-feel good story about saving animals turns me into a teary faggot.
Even some clickbait facebook video of a kid who'd run into someone's garage just to hug their dog makes me too happy and I hate it.
