I got a beardie, but to expand off of that
i have a beardie dragon that is a juvenile right now, and i have him in a 40 gallon breeder, and he is okay with that for now it seems.
but i want to get him into a 80-100 gallon tank size within a few months, and i was wondering what are some good options that you would recommend
I was thinking about building one, but i have no idea where to start, but i have heard its a good route to take. there isnt too much reliable information ive found online, especially on where to get the tools materials needed to build one.

Edna the Argus monitor, hopefully adding a male so she has company and avoids becoming egg bound.
Hey guys I have a question, I need to higher ambient temperatures while keeping a basking spot relatively the same if not a little hotter. I have a 5.5 dome if I got a bigger dome and higher wattage basking light would that do the trick?
>>2281712
I would go with a low wattage ceramic heat emitter over the middle of the tank to boost ambient. 60w should be plenty for this purpose.
>>2281839
It's a chameleon cage so it's got two big screen sides it's very tall so even with the ceramic heater he can thermoregulate fine , but will the ceramic kill humidity? Thats a great idea though thanks

thanks

I have no experience with reptiles/amphibians nor do I want to.
That being said every time I scroll past OPs thread I have to click on the pic of the two lizards, it's just such a great image.

If we can have a dozen threads up bitching about cats then I don't see the harm in two threads about reptiles.
>>2281859
Yes a CHE will burn off your humidity. Not sure what to do with a cham terrarium.

why??
My brown anaconda Gordon Ramsnek

>why?
I don't own or want reptiles and amphibians because I travel for work, am gone for a few weeks at a time, and it's not fair to make my wife take care of animals she doesn't like.
>>2282744
Not him but reptiles are very low maintenance, well snakes are, you only feed them once a week
im thinking about getting a new tank for my skink
but i dont have much room
is a 100 gallon that much better than an 80 gallon?
i know bigger is always better, but i dont have too much space in my current living conditions, but if 20 more gallons is a big deal i guess i could work it in
what do you guys think
Been thinking of getting a ball python as my first reptile pet. Don't want a snake that'll be too large though, so also pondering a corn snake. Any important advice guys?
>>2283245
If you're only going to get one snek i recommend a corn or a rosy boa. Antaresia pythons (spotted and children's) are also awesome if you have a reptile shop that has them in your area. All of those are easier to care for than BPs and all are a lot more active. BPs are beautiful and docile but also fussy about their humidity, very fussy about eating, and spend the majority of their time snuggled up in their hides.
