So i noticed that there aren't really that many threads explaining how to get into the hobby of domestication. I have lurked here a couple weeks (im originally from /k/) and i still haven't decided on which new being i will call my m8 or m8s. I live in an apartment complex so larger animals are off limits. I do not wish to own a dog or cat due to their size. I would like a freind that is low maintenance, but that involves micro-management. I have been looking at fish, but they are problematic for when i have to leave for work. So far, invertibres have been what i have been looking into. I would like ab animal that will allow me to have company, but also enrich my knowledge in their field.
Tldr; which pets will allow me to micromanage them, but will allow me to learn something and to leave for a couple days.

Also, helping the uninitiated thread.

Inverts are great low-maintenance pets, and if you've never really had animals before then they can be pretty educational. Just don't expect them to provide any company - they can be nice to handle every now and then, but you can't exactly sit and have a chat with one.

>Implying you can have a chat with your dog without looking crazy or like a 40 year old housewife.
