Although antelope are technically not true deer (do not have branched antlers), they are clearly close enough and can be pretty amazing.
Here is one that might change your mind about them 'sucking'. It is called the eland (my favorite antelope), and it is the second largest antelope species on earth.
This is a beautiful, powerful, and majestic colorful beast, which is striking to look at in person.

Moose spotted outside a cabin
Meet the extinct Irish-elk
It had the largest antlers of any deer or deerlike species. it may have also bee then largest ever known.
It was as large or larger than the modern moose, but its antlers seem to suggest they were somewhat distantly related (large flat and wide antlers with massive spikes); sort of like how a turkey is distantly related to peacocks.
Both the moose and Irish-elk seem to share a common ancestor that likely resembled the fallow-deer
>>2277330
>>2277331
>>2277332
>>2277333
Meaning it was actually not an elk and basically looked more like a giant fallow-deer with perhaps less pronounced moose traits.

Size comparison
>>2277935
Outside a moose, the only other deerlike animal that could challenge the Irish elk would be the giant-eland and common-eland
Elands can be even larger than a cape-buffalo and are practically the buffalo of deerlike animals.

Have any of you deerfags been to Nara, Japan? I went to west Japan few months ago and visited Nara for a day and man it was awesome. Hundred meters from the central railway station and you could already find bunch of deer just on the side of road, chilling and waiting for tourists to feed them deer crackers. When you went westwards in the city, the deer just kept increasing, while the urban area slowly turns into park, forest, and eventually mountains. With tame deer everywhere. There were a lot of stands selling deer crackers all around. The deer didn't go near them, despite there being crackers with only old jap lady protecting them. But when someone went close to the stand to buy stuff, the deer got alert and started crowding around. If you had crackers in your hand, they lightly butted you from behind or tried to turn you around with their neck in order to get crackers. It was super cute.
They said Nara's been a tourist spot and there's been tame deer there for a milennia.
I'd post some of my own pictures, but I'm at work now so don't have them here.

The way reindeer are used as work animals is pretty interesting. They're released to roam around pretty freely in the wild for a large part of the year. The annoying part is that since they're semi-domesticated animals, they're not as afraid of humans, and they tend to lazily walk on roads in large numbers.

Both of these species live in India, but generally in different environments. As expected, the deer tend to live in forests while the antelope prefer savannas.
However, their environments tend to overlap and they generally fair equally well in plains; India is not simply just a giant jungle, as media tend to portray it as. This they tend to interact in nature quite commonly.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4gFRhvg3V4M
That is actually why that reserve have both species in the first place.
Does > bucks
I can't say I do appreciate them. Adjacent to my yard is a man-built diversion of a natural spring, so there's always water flowing even during droughts. naturally this attracts animal life including a deer family. The come down my hill of a backyard and eat everything in their path on their way to the water.

The rump designs can be used as 'follow me' marks as a way to communicate with othersome in the herd. They can also be used as away to confuse a predator when the herd scatters in different directions.

Those black spots are called pre-orbital glands. They are used for scent marking. Usually a black, tar-like substance is left where they mark.
>>2278633
I'm curious as to how the males act when they are in rut. Surely the testosterone boost overloads the timeless, and they will be more interested in fighting and fucking than eating. How do tourists and locals not get destroyed during mating season?

My grandfather had a buck he kept for years in his back area, it climbed the fence injured one day, he started feeding and giving it water.
and it stayed, so he just kept him as an outside ""pet""
I knew him from when I could walk and talk until I was about 10, grandfather had him for almost a total of 15 years, until he got sick and died.
He was an interesting creature, he'd let you pet him, and even liked to play by spraying the house around and him hopping around chasing it.
He even had his own little doghouse of sorts, they had a shed out back they never used, so he put a bunch of blankets in there so he had somewhere to sleep in the winter
