I am not sure if there's a right or wrong. Humans will always be part of nature.
Though can't say the predatory nature of our contemporary societies (is it innate to humans?) is such a good thing, especially for the long-term.
Life will most likely prevail if we fuck up our environment, but there's a much smaller limit to the survival of humans in a heavily degraded environment.
