Are animal personalities a meme?
It seems unlikely to me that that animals would have anything more than conditioned behaviours as opposed to natural personalities
Pic unrelated, it's just a cute kot

If you're considering it that way then that's what we all are

i have had multiple cats, and rats, each of them was distinct from the others. they all have their likes/dislikes, and would react differently to different situations
Are personalities a meme?

A significant part of an animal's behavior is learned so yeah, why would they not have personalities?

What makes you think that? Have you had alot of pets? The dogs I had always had something different in their like/dislikes. From food to petting, playing and reactions.
I wouldn't put all animals is the same category, but if an animal learns (as for example cats and dogs do) that means they forget some things and memorize others.
If they memorize some, it means they have some kind of mechanism to diferenciate this experiences/memories. Because there's allways differences is every brain from individual to individual, means they will diferenciate "different" experiences, give more relevance to some, meaning having unique likes and dislikes
Can't this be considered "personality"?
Are human personalities a meme?
Because humans are animals too.
