If I buy a 75 gal tank and add everything from my old 10 gal tank (4 live plants, 2 rocks, 5lb(?) Of substrate, a bit grasshair plants) that I have had for 8 months, + new stuff to fill it up, would it be cycled already, or just how much would it boost up the cycling process?

it wouldn't still be cycled but it would speed it up quite a bit. 10g is way bigger than a 75g though so I can't imagine it would happen in sooner than a few weeks.

But then again if it's 75gal and it's so big, would it be okay to add 10 small neon tetras while it cycles, I'm saying this assuming their biowaste is too small to spike up ammonia, or that my 10gal stuff is enough to "cancel it out", I could be wrong though, correct me if so

Did you use the filter media from the 10 gallon? If so you're good. It'll speed it up. I went from a 30 to 75 and added everything and filter media to new filter and cycled within a week.

>waiting for the anons to tell me even though I added everything and end of cycle levels were 0, 0, 10 that my tank wasn't cycled.

I havent done anything yet, but I could also add the media, to be honest though I just know enough to keep my tank well, I'm basically a noob on actual aquarium stuff, so, don't larger tanks have larger filters? Are 10gal media the same size/compatible with 75gal media/filters?

should be just fine in such a big tank. the plants help too.

they aren't the same size but you just need to jam the media in wherever it will fit.

I definitely recommend getting an aquaclear or a canister, the HOB filters with cartridges are a ripoff.

Thank you! I understand what you mean now, they have a lot of extra space so I'm sure it'd fit in there
This is all just a MAYBE but I wanted to be informed before making a decision
