I really want to get a Betta. I currently have a 10 gallon tank, just the acrylic tank itself no extras. What type of filter, heater, deco, substrate etc should I buy?

There you go. You've got everything you need.
Betta fish are easy to take care of. At the minimum all you need is a vase and some water.
Filter, heater, deco, & substrate are all optional and can be bought as desired.

They can survive in such conditions, but its on par with having a baby cow in a crate raising it for veal.
In their natural habitat, they'll spend the dry season in a puddle the size of a teacup- but in the rainy season they will have their own small pond.
OP- you just need a heater and a small filter setup, the smallest filter they sell is probably fine. Bettas are relatively clean fish.
You should cycle the tank (get it started with water/filter and a hardy fish first) before you get a beta. I usually start with a sailfin pleco (the algae eaters). They're hardy, rarely die qand will keep the glass clean.

A candle burning on the surface and the layer of melted wax helps warm up and oxygenate the water, so that's essential
Op here. I did use google before posting here, however I found conflicting information. I thought I would ask here. All the sites I read seemed to agree on is that they need a filter and heater.
Thanks for the information, if anyone has more info or tips for me I would appreciate it.
