I've never been bitten by a dog and the only dog that I ever actually feared was my grandma's neighbour's. That annoying not-so-little shit kept barking at pretty much anything on the other side of the fence, sometimes maybe even fucking ants. I'm so glad he's dead. I believe the whole neighborhood was glad when one beautiful night the fucker just stopped barking forever.

So no, I don't really have a serious reason to hate dogs. I just do.

The fuckers are everywhere. It seems like people are having dogs instead of children. And everyone just assumes everyone else will just love their dog when it annoys them. It's disgusting, really.

My best arguments for hating dogs are probably that literally all of them smell the same bad, they are mostly annoying (the smaller the more annoying), and every normie has one, as >>2250909 said. And there are people out there who love their dog more than anyone else "for its personality", even though a single cat has more personality than several dogs combined, if personality is what matters to you.

I never hated dogs but never loved them either. It's just that one day several years ago I looked at the dog loving society and didn't want to be associated with them. So I hate dogs. Plain and simple as that. Yes, I hate dogs because other people love them.

When I'm walking on the sidewalk and a person walking a dog comes towards me I make extra sure to make it extra obvious that I'm making extra space between me and the dog, as if I'm avoiding a junkie lying on the ground. I never turn around when I'm on a train and a dog starts making noise behind me, as if it wasn't even there. I refuse to give the dog owners the attention they crave so much.

A common reason that people don't like dogs is that 99% of dogs will get excited, jump on a stranger, and slime them. It's not pleasant.

The problem here is that it is ridiculously hard to train a dog not to do this, and (even harder) keep that training fresh. Especially if you don't meet new people all the time.

It requires 2 people to do the initial training, and 1 has to be a stranger. It will take an hour of their time a day for 2 weeks to establish the groundwork. The dog must be trained to ignore distractions ahead of time and focus on your commands, which is sort of like stage 8 of 11 in basic obedience training. Most dogs don't go past stage 4, which is knowing their name, how to sit, and how to lay down.

Basically, it's advanced training that the vast majority of dogs do not have. So of course people will continue to get jumped on and slimed by strange dogs, and there's no fixing that.

Uh, it's really not. The problem is not that it's difficult, it's that some people don't think it's necessary because they find the behavior endearing. And don't get me wrong, that's shitty, but don't blame the dog for that, blame the owner for being shitty and rude.

Also, even if your dog is not trained to not jump on strangers, it's not hard to keep them from doing it. It's called a leash. Again, see above; not an issue of it being hard, just an issue of people not bothering.

Wrong and wrong again. It really doesn't matter if the second person is a stranger or not. Also, there doesn't NEED to be a second person cooperating at all. Teaching a dog to ignore distraction is all that's necessary, and that's something you can do without other participants.

1. Your cat doesn't give a fuck about you. It only wants food. It doesn't show affection or have any personality. Cats are the most dull animals on the planet and my family owned at least 5 from when I I lived in my old country to here in the US. They will sometimes look in your direction and rub up on you, but that's it. Not even have the capacity to go on walks or play or interact in any meaningfu way. I come home, the cat wakes up and wants me to pet her and give her food. I do that and after a while we both get bored and go our separate ways. She's quietly sleeping somewhere for several hours, then crawls out of her hidey hole and demands some attention. I give her some, then we both get bored again. When I'm cooking she's in the kitchen with me, sometimes quietly waiting, sometimes loudly demanding I give her some of what I'm having. When I'm finished, she gets the hint and goes away again. We live our separate lives. If I had my own house with a garden, she wouldn't even depend on me giving her food.

I kinda miss my pet rabbit sometimes though. He was even more quiet and his shit smelled less bad since he obviously didn't eat meat. When the cat dies (she's 4 or 5 now), I'm probably gonna get another rabbit.
