What's the appeal of having a dog, /an/?
>>
Basically they're a friend that loves you unconditionally, does whatever you say(if you treat them right), and can't talk. 3/3
>>
I dunno. I think they're annoying.

Its basically a child. You are programmed to crave the responsibility of taking care of something less intelligent than you, a dog fills the void for half the work. Also a dog is always a good laugh because they are stupid, or do something "smart" despite being stupid.

I only really find large ones annoying.
>>
>>2236880
I find really large human beings more annoying than large dogs.
>>
>>2236872
Unless you have a shiba.
>>
>>2236872
That sounds like they would appeal to really lonely people.
>>
>>2236869
Training them and obeying your commands is cool.

Also they are cute

Sup Achmed.

Have fun eating the cockmeat sandwich in Gitmo.
>>
>>2236869
To have someone to cuddle with while I cry.
>>
a child that is not people
a doll that is alive
something that loves without having to earn it's love
companion who can't argue with you
>>
>>2236895
eh, they just don't respond to typical training methods.

The ones I've come across in japan were all mostly very obedient though a tad mischievous when left alone.
>>
>>2236927
Oh, they can argue with you all right. They just don't do it with words.
>>
>what's the appeal of having a bro 4 lyfe
>>
>>2237543
They die too soon. You're their bro 4 lyfe, but he's your bro for about a quarter of your life.
>>
>>2237547
how'd you survive Matthew?
>>
>>2236869

They're all the fun and activity levels of a small child without growing up and asking for a car later.
>>
>>2237549
Bruh, it just kind of rained here. I thought we were going to get it worse, but Miami was spared. My Cuban friends decided pic related is the reason why we didn't get hit.
>>
>>2237547
humans are like angels to dogs
they may start as a kid/puppy couple, and as they grow old, their humans grow stronger and stronger, so they can carry them when they can't move so well.
when they die, their human, strong as ever, holds them close and helps them to the other side
maybe in a dog's eyes a human never dies
>>
>>2237569
Why you gotta make me feel emotional
>>
>>2236872
>meaningless, forced love for selfish people who can't hold friendships
>>
sex
>>
>>2237569
nice one
>>
>>2238608
but that's 80% of normal relationships
>>
>>2237569
Dogs can't understand the permanence of death, so this is actually true. It's the reason that that one dog waited at the train station for all those years-- he legitimately thought his owner would eventually show up.
>>
I don't know. They're needy and annoying. Not very clean either. Americans love them though.
>>
>>2240157
sad!

Eh?
>>
no one knows anymore really. I would say about 95% of dog ownership is merely just conditioned tradition without reasoning.
>>
>>2240477
that applies to all pets, anon.
>>
>>2240477
That applies to every aspect of life, anon.
