The mole is in a courtyard area that's only accessible from the house and the foundations are extremely deep so I can't imagine moles coming in from outside, I believe this one was accidentally brought in with a bag of soil. That's why chasing it away is not an option.

Moles don't live in bags of soil and couldn't because they need to eat a shitload pretty much constantly. Unless your foundation is like 4+ feet deep it tunneled in from outside.
