Are there any holistic or not so holistic methods of ridding dogs of fleas? I've heard vodka, vinegar, citrus juice concentrates... any advice would be appreciated!

get a flea collar
shampoo your carpets
mow your law
there you go.

If your dog has fleas call a fucking vet about it. It'll mostly include special shampoo, shaving and a flea collar

No. Why do you faggots need holistic methods? You realize they can fuck you up just as much as synthetic pesticides, right?
And don't even fucking think about DE.

No.

Unnecessary and not particularly helpful. Professional steam cleaning is great but not necessary either.
OP, the first step is buying something called an IGR. It isn't a pesticide. It prevents the flea eggs and larvae in your carpets, couch, etc. from continuing their life cycle. Vacuum the shit out of your whole house, wash linens, wash couch cushion covers if possible, anything the animal rests on. If you can't wash them, vacuum thoroughly with an attachment. Then spray down with the IGR. Spray carpets with IGR too. Treat your pet. Finopril won't hurt it. Baths won't cut it. If you have a yard, and the animal in question is a dog, you can use pyrethrin to treat the yard. Don't use it if you have a cat as they're very sensitive to it. Try to eliminate shady areas in the yard as well.

Btw for flea IGR I recommend something called precor concentrate.
Use nemotoads in your yard if you've got one. That shit is more effective than bugspray.
DE in carpets, lavender and sandalwood spray on doggie. Flea comb daily.

Well, I'm not a biologist but in my microbiology labs we used 90%+ ethanol and fire to clean out almost anything.

>not so holistic
While you people are spending hundreds on snake oil and putting your pets and family through countless parasitic ordeals, I've been using Advantage (Active ingredient is Imidacloprid) on my pets exclusively for over a decade and have never had an infestation since I started using it.
Yes, it's toxic as fuck and it will kill your cat or dog if you use too much on it, and even using the recommended dose can make them sick and shaky, as it's a neurotoxin, but I only treat them 3 times per year during the summer months, and I don't worry about fleas anymore.
It will induce a flea apocalypse that you will be able to see and appreciate as you find more dead and dying fleas where your pets sleep than you ever though were in your house to begin with. It works, and without the bullshit.
Anyway, like I said though, mind the directions, that shit's toxic and it's not cheap. It is my #1 recommendation because it actually works. Accept no substitutes. this isn't the walmart tier Hartz brand waste of time and money bullshit.
Advantage works. It's some real shit. so it's worth saying again, don't over do it. use as directed.
