Alright, post your favorite type of breed of dogs videos are permitted too!
ready, set.. go!
I don't have a doggo but I want one of 3 doggos
First is the shibe, 90% sure I'll never get one becuase I don't know the first thing about training dogs
>>2226768
For something a bit more realistic, I'd love a nice, sociable bulldog
Love these fat chunkers
Labrador retriever
>>2226769
And finally, I'd love a cute corgi the most
>>2226768
I love shiba-inu dogs they are so adorable. A friend of mine has one and everytime I visit, the dog greets me and sits on my lap cause he wants me to pet him. Somtimes he looks like at me like the meme doge very wow.

Also makes noises like this lol

>purebred dogs
enjoy your inbred genetic trainwrecks
Staffordshire Bull Terriers, Cairn Terries, and Greyhounds. I live in an apartment though so I don't think I should keep a Staffy. They seem like the type of breed that works best with houses.
Mutts are the only acceptable answer
>>2226773
I think they're so cute. This girl in one of my classes always shows me pictures of her shibe. I wish I had pictures of him to post
>>2226808
Triggered much?
>>2226802
Mutts are the best
Perfect dogs (for me at least)
Border collie is the most beautiful and clever breed dog in the world
I've never had one but I've always wanted a rough collie
Borzoi.
Supersized floofy greyhounds
>>2226790
enjoy your pariah dog
I've always thought Rottweilers were beautiful dogs
>>2227048
Merle coated BCs are the GOAT looking dogs.
>all these dweebs not knowing about breed specific rescues
I'm partial to poodles and schnauzers myself. Maybe I'll get a schnoodle someday.
Toppest tier doggo right here
Pointers are GOAT.
My pointer "Null" is the happiest most friendly and active dog I ever had. He is like a big puppy always wanting to play and run (Even being 8 years old) but at the same time very well behavied and respectful.
He is a rescue and I suspect he was raised by hunters and abandoned when they saw he was not suitable for hunting (Dumb as fuck).

literally wat?
a dog's behaviour is mostly socialization / training. only a little of it is genetic.
a dog's diseases OTOH are mostly genetic (assuming a reasonably healthy lifestyle)
the predictability of temperament of purebreeds is bought with the equally predictable diseases it will likely suffer.
this 18th century eugenics nonsense has to stop
>>2226759
Pic related is my dream dog. I love hounds in general, have a beagle at the moment. Just want a beagle except bigger. Family comes from Poland and I was surprised to find this as a recognized (but rare) breed.
I will never get to own one, but Ill look on from a distance
>>2227297
i dont know.
i think a lot of the dogs character is determined by its genetics.
If you compare a husky, a golden retriever and a border collie for example, they will have a totally different body language and a different way in its interaction with humans, other dogs, prey animals or herding animals.
they are totally different and therefore have problems communicating with each other.
if you take a look at the belyaev foxes experiments, you see that a little selection does a lot to the character of an animal.
>>2227297
>what right back at you
if youmix up breeds the pariah dog is what you get
the one reason muts are so great now is because they are the mx of defined breeds
My halfbreed is my favorite type of breed
rate my gf's coton

pic related
Sarplaninac is pretty cool, too bad I'll never own one because I'm not a shepherd on a farm in the Balkan Highlands.
>>2227297
>a dog's behaviour is mostly socialization / training. only a little of it is genetic.
stupidest post I've read on /an/ of all time. as long as distinct breeds have existed it was known they have distinct temperaments.
>>2226759
flatties to the rescue of the thread!
had one growing up & we used to explore the mountain we lived on together all the time. Loyal as hell. When she got really old & became basically blind & deaf, I had to keep her shut in the house when I went on walks cause she would still be able to track me with just her nose even if I was a mile away.
I know I'll never have one but damn I admire mals so much.
>>2227816
So get one. There's really nothing preventing you from getting one if you really want one.
Get a Maligator, dedicate part of your life to it to give it the exercise and attention it needs, train it up and be happy and satisfied knowing you have one of the best breeds of dogs in the world, one that most people wouldn't dare trying to raise.
>boglen terrier
thats my girl. 5 monts ago
>>2227968
Dude I thought that was my dog when I first clicked that. Why does that have to be such a common color/shape in bully mixes? It's almost it's own breed at this point.
>>2227968
Is there lab in her?
>>2227975
There could be, if she plays her cards right.
>>2226759
German Shepherds are my favorite breed. I like GSDs that are a mixture of show and working lines. ^_^
>>2227968
jesus this looks exactly like my dog, I don't know if he's a bully mix though
>>2228887
my girl is bully/amstaff mix. this is how she looks like 2 monts ago
wolfhound for me
>>2226768
shibus are cunts man
>>2228911
>Those tattoos
>>2226768
I have a Shiba Inu.
I love mixes. My dog is a staffie/lab cross and I honestly couldn't ask for a better pet. She looks like the picture (which is a Dutch shepherd), only with floppy ears. If I were to have a purebred it would probably be a Dutch shepherd because it looks so much like my mutt.
>>2229034
If I get another dog, it will be a Dutch Shepard. I currently own pits, but I'd like something different and dutch shepards seem very intelligent, active and trainable. Plus, they are beautiful.
>>2227282
>Null pointer
>>2227111
Always wanted one
>>2228943
I know, I think they're super cute and playful tho. As I said above, I doubt I'll ever get one because I know how hard they are to train and I don't know the first thing about dog training
I'm quite partial to boxers myself.
I never had pets growing up but my childhood friend had two boxers growing up and I spent a lot of time at his house. They were adorable! Always made me want to have my own some day. Sadly, both of his died of cancer when they were around 9 or 10, but then his family got 3 more and whenever he goes to visit his parents he will bring me just because he knows I love his dogs so much.
>>2229034
>>2229037
I have a dutch shepard(mom)/catahoula/pit(dad) mix from an uh-oh litter of a friend of a friend
it's the single greatest dog I've ever owned. Super obedient, protective but not aggressive. Seriously I can't even begin to describe how awesome this dog is.
where is the beagle love?
>>2226759
I had my last dalmatian for over 13 years. I've had Ruca now for over 7. Pretty safe to say they are my favorites.
my doggo is a pit, not sure breed specific
aside from pits, ive always wanted to own a Newfoundland or akita
Akita will almost never happen because I don't trust myself to be firm enough with them, im already kinda a softie with honey despite her being well trained
>>2229117
i grew up with 2 boxers alongside a pit, they're super cute and friendly but dumb as all hell. like, reeeeally dumb. both of them died of cancer before they turned 4 but i think that's because my sister is just a shit dog owner that gave them dollar store food.
>>2229126
my dog, or a draw of him
>>2227048
This desu senpai.
>>2227124
>Implying that was sarcasm.
Pariah dogs are actualy top tier dogs. Well, except for their aloof behavior.
>>2229137
good draw
>>2229135
my boxer's almost 13 and he's an expert thief, mum leaves shit like cat food out on the counter and he'll grab the tin with his teeth and take it outside to eat it before burying the can.
we only know he does it because he gets super pink after he does it, allergies I guess.
he's a dumb fucko but I'm 99% sure he knows how to do the things i'm asking him to, he's just too stubborn to do it.
1. Staffordshire Bull Terrier
2. Greyhound
3. Standard Poodle
I don't really have a top five, just a top 3. I like plenty of breeds like the Bichon, Pug (but I hate how ill bred they are), Rottie, Dobbie, Cairn Terrier, Beagle, etc.
>>2228821
For the win!
>>2227516
I can take any breed, treat it like shit and beat it to change its temperament.
