>watching american "documentary"
>shows spider and ant
>spider growls like a big cat
>ant squeals like a pig
>>2216647
ah, and the classic "experts" talking inbetween the scenes
>>2216637
It's always the same roar too. It's like we only have one roar sound effect
>>2216647
Holy shit I can't stand overly dramatic shit like that. The use it too keep add riddled twats interested instead of the people who are actually interested in the subject matter.
Absolutely disgusting.

Something that bugs me almost as much as that are all the other fake sounds. Even the BBC adds those to everything. Stupid "chewing" and "walking" sounds to insects and other such things that produce no audible sound at all. An ant colony might produce some sound or bigger arthropods moving but you can not fucking hear every step a single spider takes. Really ruins the immersion for me. Also it's always the same 5 or 6 sounds played in different order and I know which ones too, they're from a creative commons audio library.
>>2216637
what kind of sounds would a feathered dino make?
>>2216641
Really? You must not know much about dinosaurs.

I remembered seeing this:

I've seen this episode. Those sound effects are not in it.

I have never agreed more with any other post in my entire life
The Creative Commons audio library, I know of it too and can recognize audio "clipart" on tv

That poor spider.

Although, to be fair, most Attenborough documentaries have been dubbed with both dramatic music and sound effects. He also has a very dramatic and somewhat anthropomorphising narration. I'm not saying that he's bad, because he isn't, but calling his documentaries "clean and uniterrupted footage" is a stretch.

I miss Wild Discovery and Steve Irwin so much

Rat shambles on screen, squeaks. Cat runs by, meows. Horses being ridden past, neighing and nickering.
