What kind of tree/bush is this?
I was also wondering if the fruits were edible.

The second pic is as close as I could get, fence being there. The berries (if that's what they were) were small, bout the size of the last digit on someone's finger, and the leaves kind of reminded me of pepper wood leaves, long and thin.
Ooh, someone's going to Humboldt State. And I think I know the exact tree you're going to.
As for is it edible, try it, hippie.

Its behind a fence at Safeway, and I'd rather not in trouble, but if I see any other trees that I can get too I'll pick a couple fruits and slice em open for you guys to see.
Sidenote-is there a way to test if you're allergic to something without taking a huge risk? I've heard something about rubbing the juice on the inside of your wrist skin and watching for a reaction, but I don't know how true that is. Other wise I was just going to poke the emd of a toothpick in it and touch it to my tongue.
