I vaccinated my cat for rabies yesterday. today he bit me. Should I get a rabies shot myself?
He didn't have rabies, but my vet told me that the rabies vaccine makes the animal rabid until he develops immunity to it. I think she's full of shit as I haven't found anything of the sort on the internet.
So I'm here now. should I get a rabies shot because my recently vaccinated cat bit me?

You probably heard your vet wrong. The vaccine IS the rabies virus, it's sort of like you are giving your animal the rabies virus. HOWEVER all rabies vaccines are a killed virus, meaning the virus is confirmed dead and it can't be revived. So you're safe, and now you learn something.

Let me add to this, all rabies vaccines in the US are killed. If You live elsewhere then idk. Should be only killed but who knows
