Do we pass laws against animal abuse for their sake or for ours?

50/50 mix of people who truly care for animals and brain dead faggots who need something to yell about so they feel important. I'm all for testing medicine and stuff that is largely beneficial to the human race as a whole but does the world really need any more new cosmetics?

my problem with this is: why dont we use willing human volunteers instead?
of course the family could sue or whatever but they could sign waivers, or get paid or something. seriously i dont get the point, plenty of people are probably fully willing to try things for science.
why do we have to use animals who 100% without a doubt don't want to test things for human safety? seems ineffective anyway

Why even ask for human volunteers? Why not just use death row inmates instead?
Why do we have to use brave people instead of criminals who 100% without a doubt are not fit to be in society?

because then it's muh human rights
even if those humans killed a thousand people or raped and tortured little kids of course.
