It's not like I went out of my way to get a heavy piece of machinery and run him over. I was scanning for sticks and rocks and shit to not run over with the lawnmower, and I found that guy sitting right in my path. I tried to gently move him out of the way, and he snapped back, so I just left him alone and kept going.

Also, that was about a decade ago. I was still a kid.

I once caught one in my backyard, it never snapped, poor lil thing was terrified, just froze up in my hand, and kept its eyes on mine while I examined it.

Caught a moth that happened to be around since last night, kept bringing it up to the lil guy while still holding him, he'd take the now ded moth in his pincer things and nibble for like 1-2 seconds then drop it. Did this for a lil while, then guessed he may not have been that hungry.

Let it go back onto the same rose after and hour or two... poor thing was so terrified, never took its wee little eyes off me.

I was like 10 back then, looking back I'm proud I didn't hurt it or do stupid shit to it.

Was going to start a mantis thread but i guess ill post here. Pic related is my griffin mantis nymph. Last night though he managed to clip his own leg off while trying to clean it. Im worried that the lack of leg will cause molting problems but other sources and forums say they regenerate legs quite well when they are young. Its currently an L3 nymph and im 90% sure its a male. Will he make it /an/? I am more than slightly worried.
