No. They have little trunk things that suck up whatever sick shit they're trying to consume. Avoid the flies with the cool color patterns on their eyes, though. Horse flies are no joke.

Looks like some kind of flower fly. Their coloring look similar to wasps (probably to scare off predators) but they are completely harmless.
