Have any of you guys taken your pet to the vet for a lengthy visit, and when you return home your pet acts sicker or weaker than before?

I'm kind of freaking out right now, because I'd just taken my cat in for a visit yesterday and he had to stay at the vet for a little over four hours. When we brought him home he seemed fine, but now today he wobbles a lot more when he walks and just generally doesn't seem very able to walk. This is kind of strange as yesterday he was going up and down the stairs completely fine but now he can't even get up the second step without sliding around.

I've read a few things of pets seeming to get sicker after a vet visit, but it's never really happened like this for us.

What did you take your pet in for?

diarrhea and vomiting and lack of appetite.

They did an ultrasound and something like a smaller biopsy when they found his stomach lining was thicker than it should be to see if it was a tumor. He seems to have gotten his appetite back, it's just that now he seems like he's very weak. Like I said he wasn't like this at all yesterday after I brought him home.

Maybe coming off of anesthesia. He might have to recover for a while

I hope you're right, but it's just really strange that he was so much better yesterday after getting home.

Poor guy. He looks so sad... How old is he?

Have you called the vet to get your questions answered from the specialist?

he's 18 now.

my vet is closed right now.
