Was in the same situation for years. Finally, last year i decided to quit my job and get the puppy. Best decision in my life. Pic related, its him.
>>2164210
How do you finance yourself and the pup? I'd love to be able to do this
>>2164214
Had some cash aside to be able to live for some time. I started also looking for a job that i can do from home and at some point i found one.
r8 my border collie pupper
purebread
How about other collies too?
Rough collies are far superior! All the fluff, the majority of the intelligence but without three quarters of the drive and hyperness. Borders are lovely, but they're working dogs not pets in my eyes.

daww/10
Why do you people think they need that much time... I've owned three and I worked as long as you own your own house it's fine...
>>2164350
Collies are allowed too ;) I always wondered which were the most intelligent. Border Collies or the other collies :)
Dis mine

What a pretty girl! Her face reminds me a lot of my dog, Maple, but she is a black and tan English Shepherd, not a border collie like Maya. It's a related breed, though.
Pic related. Let me know if you guys mind me bumping the thread with her. I love border collies and intend to get one someday.
Here are some border collies that were for rehoming on craigslist a while back. I saved the pic because they are adorable and it's a good example of how beautifully varied their coats can be!
>>2165476
Another pic of two of them
Colies a shit.

Cute :)
>border collie
>needs a job to do or will destroy the house in boredom
>have insane endurance, can work 8 hours non-stop
>you better either have a huge farm with a bunch of animals to herd or have enough free time to play with your border collie all day
>>2166304
Literally not true. As long as you can take it for walks or play with it every 4 or 5 hours on most days, even for a little bit, it'll be fine. What do you think farm border collies do during the winter when they mostly stay inside?
>>2166304
Just because they CAN work for hours on end doesn't mean they NEED to be playing/exercising non-stop. A good, well-trained herding dog can be trained to have a good "off switch" for down time.
Besides, mental stimulation is just as important, if not more, than physical stimulation/exercise. If you offer your border collie no way to exercise their mind, absolutely they can run and run and run and never tire out. A healthy mix of mental stimulation and physical exercise is the quickest way to tire them out
>>2166304
A friend of mine had 3 border collies in an apartment, without any problems or issues. They are just as calm as you want them to be.This doesn't mean they cant be active ;)
>>2166304
I have a Collie x cattle dog and it sleeps and relaxes all day, sometimes jumps in her shell pool and plays with her puzzle toys. I generally walk her once a day, sometimes twice, sometimes she's alone for 12 hours with no walk. Maybe I got lucky, but it's just not true that they need to be doing something all day every day. Just don't be a shit cunt and neglect them.
>>2166706
Totally agree with you.
Border Collie vs German Shepherd, go!
