How do you guys deal with ticks? I found two on me yesterday but only because for a split second I had a very slight itch in the areas they were located at. I heard dish detergent cause them to come off more easily if you dab some on them though I had mix results, maybe I just didn't wait long enough as I wanted them gone asap as soon as I saw it.
This board is animals and nature, ticks are sadly part of nature. I am mostly asking how to get ticks off of your own body though I guess I can't stop anyone from posting easy ways of removing ticks from pets as well.
I am more worry about the possible ticks that may be left unnoticed, would a hot bubble bath be enough to cause them to latch off?

No. They are pretty resistant. Neither cold nor heat do them harm. They are driven by scent. If they are on u they go 4 warm places bcuz blood flow. They get anywhere since they also bite birds and can drop off of them. Mostly they get onto while your standing on grass. This is possible on small green spots remember birds. This is y u should check ur feet after standing a while on
Just buy one of those $1 tick-removal tools at your local feed store and pull them off. Make sure to get their heads out. If a big red ring like a target appears around a bite go to the doctor because that means it gave you Lyme disease

So far the areas are just swollen and I did make sure I got their heads. How long do I have to look out for the red ring targets for?
They breath with their whole bodies. So olive/corn/sunflower oil removes ticks.
