Certain ones like attention more than others and they all catch of to training differently. I've worked with 20+ llamas and they have all been completely different

Yeah I've been spat on a lot. But llamas don't spit as much as people think. The majority of the time they spit on each other during feeding and I just get caught in the cross fire

there's a zoo near my parent's place that has a section where you feed the animals before going on the zoo tour. They have sheep, an Alpaca, some deer, and a llama. Apparently the Alpaca picked up spitting from the llama.

From my knowledge alpacas tend to spit more. But as babies they learn how to spit from the other llamas so that might be what happened

Yes llamas have a gate as they call it. But it's rare to have a llama with perfect tracking in fact that's one of the main things we pay attention to while breeding them. tracking makes up about half of the conformation traits we look for. The other half is structure a proportions

This picture is one of our breeding males. Of course he's a juvenile but you can still see what is considered perfect proportions

This is neat. Do you have any experience with goats? I'm trying to coax my mother to get a goat. In her youth, she lived on a farm for several years and is familiar with common farm animals. In her old age, I think taking care of an animal again would be beneficial to her lifestyle.

So, is there any agricultural reason to get a llama? Is llama milk palatable? Is there llama feta or something? My only knowledge of their agricultural attributes is fur.

I wish I knew more about goats but sadly I've only had a few encounters

Llamas are used for their wool and they can also be used as a guard animal for pretty much anything smaller than them. Male llamas are very territorial

Personally I use llamas in shows. You can earn some decent money if you're good and it's a ton of fun
