Does anyone has any recommendation for cancer treatment for dogs? Already went to vet, gave me some alternatives, but maybe the glorious 4chan knows of something else.
:( sorry anon
you know what you have to do
I know it sucks
I love my doggo to death
I love him so much that I would spare him the suffering of a "treatment" that will only prolong his suffering
I'm sorry anon : (
Chemotherapy or euthanasia. Do either quickly.
treating it is futile from my experience, especially in an older dog
keep in mind, they don't understand what's going on
.. you can often extend quality of life with fairly inexpensive steroids but keep in mind they will eventually and suddenly stop working
sorry anon, shitty times
Chemo is miserable and awful for humans even when they are loaded up with pain meds and other meds to 'help' with the side effects. I'd go as far to say that it must be worse for animals because you don't really know how they feel or what they are really feeling so you won't be able to manage everything.
I know you love your dog OP but don't put your pupper through that.

I heard that chemo doesn't affect them like it does us. Anyone more knowledgeable about that?
Look into Turkey Tail, a mushroom that activates the body's NK cells. It's very researched, Canine Matrix is a good brand. It won't cure the cancer, but it will help your dog's body should you go ahead with treatment, or give you a little extra time if you opt out. Can I ask which type of cancer he has?
Cancer is a bitch anon. Even with chemo, the cancer won't be 'cured'. It just won't be detectable. Same with people.
How old is your pupper? Many dogs develop cancer as they get older (like people) and it's basically a side effect of the body fucking up every so often.
If you can afford the therapy, it may be worth it, but don't bankrupt yourself trying to pay for it. I have to tell people with certain cancers that they have maybe a 5% chance of making it 5 years out. And they have insurance and other ways to help pay.
Tl;dr cancer sucks and your dog will eventually die regardless of your choice. Balance quality and length of life.
