This happened to my friend before. He was working in a Chinese restaurant, moving a delivery. A box was opened and some sort of weird insect (I never found out what) crawled out, his reaction was just "huh, look at that?" but as soon as he seen it, one of the Asian guys faces just dropped, he yelled "IT CAN FLY!!" and ran away

Maybe for you. I've parted with my 16 year old dog and 17 year old cockatiel. It hurt, but I had the time with them. Tons of memories that I can appreciate. It feels 'fullfilling'. With shit thats lives like 2-3 years on average they're gone in a blink of an eye like someone you know dying in a car crash or some shit because it's so sudden and just leaves a weird 'huh. they're really gone.' kind of void.

That reminds me of a woman from Indonesia I used to work with. For being born somewhere subtropical she was inexplicably not wary of bugs.
We were unpacking boxes in the shop and heard a buzzing. A massive horsefly that was dying flopped down next to her, she went "aw..." and went to pick it up. I was like "NO those things bite" and she looked at me and was like "but it's just big shiny fly, yes?"
She came in once with a rash from one of the many species of poisonous caterpillars around here because "it's look so soft and nice. It's mean!" She was too sweet for her own good.
