Didn't it turn out to be a chimera?
>>
No. There is zero reason to believe it walked on it's knuckles.
>>
>>2082366

Yes, it is now believed by many that the Spino skele was several different species. RIP spino
>>
>>2082366
Not sure.

OPs design WAS based on several mismatched skeletons with several bones from different species though.
>>
>>2082331
No. afaik the current agreement is that spinosaurus might very well have had shirt legs, but not quite THAT short and it sure as hell didn't knuckle walk.
>>
>>2082395
yes quadruped spino was a chimera the hips basically belonged to another smaller animal.. apparently Sigilmassasurus was somewhere in that chimera too

This is what I hate about paleontology. Everyone's so quick to jump on a bandwagon after they find one retarded thing they throw logic out the window
>OMG GUIS YUTYRANNUS HAS FEATHERS AND IS RELATED TO T-REX, T-REX CONFIRMED TO HAVE FEATHERS
>But you didn't find an adult T-rex with feathers?
>NO BUT IT'S RELATED TO THE T-REX SO THUS T-REX HAS FEATHERS TOO
>Elephants are related to mammoths and have next to no hair while mammoths are covered in a big shaggy coat. Different chicken breeds can have different feather types
>LOL FUCK OFF SCALE FAG I BET THE WORLD IS FLAT TOO

>OMG GUIS WE FOUND A SPINOSAURUS WITH HIND LEGS THAT DON'T MATCH THE BODY AT ALL LET'S DRAW THOUSANDS OF SHITTY FANART PICS OF THIS CONFIRMED NEW DESIGN AND NOT CHECK OUR FACTS
>>
>>2082555
no need to hate it.
time works these things out. Usually the only reason they exist is because we don't want to insult our teachers and mentors. As soon as they die this stuff gets swept under a rug and we move on.
>>
>>2082366
why do palaeontologists keep ruining things
>>
>>2082566
for the nookie
>>
>>2082555
there is no consensus yet as to weather it was a chimera or not.

its still up in the air along with "are Megaraptorids Tyrannosaurs or Allosaurs"

wait until we find more evidence that proves it one way or another before you make yourself look like a butthurt spino fanboy raging because his fan dino got manlet legs
>>
I thought that Spinosaurus didn't even have a sail and that their back probably resembled a bison more than a dimetrodon based on the neural spines
>>
>>2082559

What a shitty gerontocratic science then
>>
>>2082691
>>2082559
no, its because most dinosaurs are known from far from complete remains and its safer to wait for a more complete remains instead of jumping the gun(like Ibrahim did with his spinosaurus) and making yourself look like an idiot. its similar to Sereno and Raptorex. He jumped the gun and didn't realize the holotype was almost certainly a juvenile Tarbosaurus
>>
>>2082566
Because a lot of the real major discoveries were already made, so they obviously have to make up new shit to become relevant.

not quite
the initial estimation of the leg size was smaller than it really was, but their still quite small for a therapod, likely walked bipedally, but low slung, somewhat like a pangolin.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gz4HXyxcess
it was also likely primarily aquatic, given its footprints were webbed and its crocodile-like snout.
some paleontologists even argue it's 'sail' wasn't a sail at all, and that its spinal protrusions more closely resemble the haunches of a bison than that of other finned reptiles like dimetrodon.

apex predators don't have fat storage humps though. i think it's a heatsink

said no aquatic mammal ever.
