Anyone know what type of spider this is? Found the sucker in

Anyone know what type of spider this is? Found the sucker in his web near the bottom of an outdoor gate of mine. I live in South Africa.

Couldn't get a better picture because he hid away after the flash

Looks like some sort of widow spider, not sure which one. Would say black widow, but I'm not sure wether those live in South Africa.

He was actually pretty big..Id say his abdomen itself was at least the size of a coin. Leg span probable just under the length of a thumb.

Yeah don't think we get black widows. We do get ones called black button spiders - I think theyre a type of widow. Maybe its one of those
