What is a job that will let me read books all day? Preferably something which doesn't require interaction with other people.
I would study something lit related but then I would have to put more work into stuff like paperwork and dealing with kids as a teacher instead of actually reading. I don't plan on having a family or anything like that and I'm 18, haven't chosen a career.
What you really want is to become independently wealthy. Study hard. Get a professional, well paying job, work it for a decade, stay away from lifestyle inflation. You will have enough savings (that you invested in stock) to retire before you are 40. That may seem like a long time, but consider what most 40 year olds lives are like. They have a big mortgage, their moronic kids are costing them a fortune. They have developed some addiction, and are a couple of years away from a divorce that will finally ruin them financially.
Once you are financially independent, you can stay home, order all the books on amazon you want, and just read.

Honestly, I'm not the brightest kid. Everything I'm good at doesn't give any money and I'm not sure I could pull off something like this. I'll have ir in mind though, thanks for the advice.
