Why is it so hard to learn this crap language?

How the fuck do you remember the vocables when the fuckers speak it so fast? I cant even differentiate a question and a normal sentence

Does it ever get easier? I mean im not a lazy fuck but I just cant remember single vocables
>>
Is this your first time learning a foreign language?

Sort of, only learned English and Turkish so far, but its not as complicated as french

Watch some french stuff on youtube. If you expose yourself to the language you'll pick up on the rhytm and rules quicker than just learning it from textbooks. Had to learn it in school and finding the entry is pretty hard compared to english where it's easy to communicate on a basic level and basic grammar is chill. I think if you've got the basics of french in the rest comes easier while in english the advanced stuff becomes pretty difficult

Hmm, i see. Thank you for your answer
>>
Anyone still got some tips to improve?
>>
I recommend you to watch a series you like in the language you want to learn. If you like the series and have watched it a lot, you may get the feel to the language (how stuff is spellt). As for the vocabulary. . . Get a book you like, get a translated version (in another language) and read side by side. We needed to do that, and I hope it worked.

Va voir >>>/int/, ils sont cools avec les nouveaux. Did you try Duolingo?
To differentiate the question from a normal sentence, it's the opposite of the english, the voice rises at the end, and context helps you a lot.

Learning a language is the easiest thing that feels like the hardest. It just takes time. It feels fucking impossible all the way up until the day you start dreaming in the second language and youre getting through talking without on issue.

On that note: i studied a lot of linguistics i also learned french like you. You really could have picked an easier language for an english speaker. French is a weird one and terribly specific. They dont have the interpretive freedom we have.

Why french?

Oh and i do have advice for you... You learning parisian french or canadian french?

Answer this and i will show you the way.

1. It's not a crap language. Is a better sounding and finer language than English. English literature is pale in comparisson to French lit.

2. Try michel thomas. Download an anki deck. Use newsinslowfrench.com regularly. Watch more french series and movies.

3.
>How the fuck do you remember the vocables when the fuckers speak it so fast?
that's how I felt when learning English

4. It does get easier, but it takes patience. Learning a language is not an overnight thing. It is likely you won't be won't understand native speakers until 2 or 3 years. It is always worth it.

Find a movie or series you like. Watch with english subtitles. Listen hard and try to connect whats being said to what you know and what youre reading.

Watch again with french subtitles. Read closely and try to read along with them as they speak.

By now you should pretty much know exactly what theyre all saying throughout the movie.

Watch again with no subtitles. I promise you will hear every word clearly and fluently. Firstly that will give you the feel of fluency. Its extremely encouraging.

Secondly, you wont be so tuned into the next movie/episode you watch BUT you will have improved a lot.

Also read a book in french.

Oh and for when you get to subjonctif tense if you havent already... Most english people get confused and give the fuck up on it because its weird and confusing and dumb.. Ive seen people drop the course over it.

...until you realise we have it in English too and its equally as confusing and dumb and you dont know about it because it comes naturally to you. Once you're conscious of english subjonctif tense, french subjonctif is easy.

Eg

Infitive

Je pense qu'elle est heureuse
I think she's happy.

Subjonctif

Je veux qu'elle soit heureuse.
I want her to be happy

See that weird conjugate no conjugate shit we do in English? You never even knew until now did ya? Lets do it wrong and itll stick out more:

I think her to be happy
I want she's happy.

In *most* cases, not all, french uses it in the same situations as us.
