So my right index finger has been twitching all day these last few days. It use to come and go in the past and wouldn't last as long. It would twitch randomly then go away for a few weeks or months, but lately it's gotten worse and it's only in my index finger. But it shakes when I'm at rest and it does a side to side motion. I'm only 24 years old and I'm scared I have early onset Parkinson's. I'm setting up an appointment to see a neurologist tomorrow but right now I'm just really scared and can't stop thinking about how shit my life is gonna be if I do indeed have Parkinson's.
As I'm typing this my finger is twitching on its own, how worried should I be?
Does anyone on /adv/ have Parkinson's or know someone with Parkinson's? I'm pretty sure this is exactly how it starts

welcome to teh club, but i can tell you a neuro is going to be useless. been there done that, and was around the same age as you are now. as im getting older, i drop more shit, etc. it is what it is.
whatever it is, just live your life and roll with it. i was diagnosed essential tremor and he wanted to do more tests and shit, which equals more money. they'll probably give you a medicine or two and then want to see you in another month to see if the twitching stops.
IMO, they won't consider parkison's on your first visit due to your age

Most likely from anxiety and caffeine.

I've been to a neurologist before, twice actually and both times they dismissed it as essential tremors but this time I'm gonna get on their ass and make sure they check it out because it's really scaring me man, I'm not ready to completely change my life, things are already shitty enough.

Maybe anxiety but I don't drink any coffee or caffeinated drinks. Idk man, it's definitely not normal.
