How do people survive? I'm moving to university in a couple of days but I'm scared to death about having to live and survive on my own. I'm going to have to find a job or else I'll be broke in a matter of months.
Any tips on living away from home?
Learn to cook. Learn to clean. Actually do both. Making appointments for yourself isn't as scary as it sounds. Get a job, any job. Make some time for yourself.

Learn to budget and not to waste frivolously.

Please, please, pleasepleasepleeeease don't become one of those asshat roommates that don't know how to fucking breathe without their parents CPR'ing them
Basic things aren't actually very hard. You'll find that some things will come to you without thinking about it, just cause youve seen it done so much already.
I'd recommend utilizing the few days you have to prep yourself a little by observing how things are done around the house. For example, ask your mum to show you how to use the washing machine; tell you general tips/principles regarding washing (separate colors; pay attention to temperature, how often to wash sheets etc). Do the same for dishes and things like that.
I once had a flatmate that took my grandma's 70 year old crystal glass and make scrambled eggs in it in the microwave. Yeah. Don't do shit like that.
Do your chores and pay your bills on time. Don't be 'that guy' that ruins flat harmony
For everything else, depending in your relationship with your parents, you can just call them and ask. Same with your roommates if they're nice and seem to already know stuff. Apart from that, there's Google and Wikihow. Really, you're using the internet right now to post. There isn't much domestic stuff to do around the house that's any more complicated than that. It's just a matter of experience and intuition, which will come fairly quickly.
Don't sweat it kiddo, you're going to do just fine
Dude go to the gym and actually work out, you'll meet people and you'll feel better. If there is a gym class in your college take it!
