I've gotten through a lot of shit in my life and I think I have the right characteristics and first-hand experience to do some good in this line of work. I'm not going back to university though, so can anyone here comment on the usefulness of these 2-year programs? Are these mickey mouse degrees or can I actually get a job with it? I'm not concerned with being wealthy, but I don't want to be poor either.

Any piece of paper beats no piece of paper. But 4, 6 and 8 year pieces of paper are better than a 2 year piece of paper. But ALL of them are inferior to an equivalent amount of time of direct experience in the field.
