My blood pressure monitor showed 168/90. I am 20 and male. I have been feeling like shit already for the past week. Also, yesterday I ate some Indian snacks that when I looked back at the nutritional information, it had so much sodium in it. After that, I have been feeling a bit more shittier.
How do I lower my BP at home itself? I tried exercising and drinking a lot of water but I find myself accidentally snacking but I try to keep it down all the time.
I right now can't afford to go to a hospital to get anything checked because I have to pay for college and other expenses too.

It's easy to get a reading to high if you don't know what you're doing. How come you're a 20yo with a blood pressure monitor, do you have some other health issues?

How morbidly obese you are?

Americal healthcare? American health care. The joke is not even funny anymore.
High blood pressure is almost always only SYMPTOM of shit life style, not something you can cure on its own. Ask yourself if you are ok dying in the next decade from hearth attack or not.
as a medfag: get one of those cheap BP-meters and watch out, how it changes over time, measure like 2-3 times a day for a few weeks and write the results down.
If the upper is most of the time above 135 or the lower over 90, go to a doctor and get a prescription. 168 is quite high already, get medication.
Otherwise, yes, weight plays a huge role in this. Salt and water uptake make up only a small difference. Exercise can help you aswell.
This is a case, where pharmaceutics can increase your lifespan by a lot and I would advice on getting medical help. Otherwise your heart and vascular system will start to fail you by the time you hit 60

This is great advise. Thank you so much. I'm saving this too.
