I'd say either major in the comp sci and minor in the sociology or double major if possible and you're motivated enough.
It might be easier than it sounds. At my school, there was a CIS major in the Arts and Sciences college, which made double majoring fairly easy because that and the soc is in the same college. Either way, I'd put the comp sci at the forefront - but with my suggestions you might be able to get away with not abandoning your passion.
