So I was driving home from a party the other night around 3 am and I passed one of my buds house but while in passing I glanced at his place and saw him crying on his porch in the dark by himself with a blanket.
Now I asked him about it a day or so later and he just up and changed to conversation topic and now he will not respond to my text I want to help him but need somewhere to start like why he is upset in the first place.
He is a some what strange fragile chap. I figured this would be the best place to ask for assistance in picking a fellows brain to maybe find out an explanation for this. Thank's in advance!

I assume you're both guys so he might not like sharing his feelings with his friends. For many guys (unfortunately) their feelings are reserved only for those they are romantically involved with.
Or, you might not be close enough to him for him to open up to you. Either way, you can't make him share. If he doesn't come around and tell you, I'd say wait for this to blow over and then just continue your friendship as usual. Maybe you can work towards be more deep with each other when he isn't in crisis.

Maybe he is gay, I would cry too on my porch in the middle of the morning too if I was. I won't ask him though like you said. I'll just watch for any rainbow flags he may throw up.
