I want to start recording music on my tenor sax. I have a halfway decent mic, and what I need now is some good, free (or very cheap) recording and editing software. I did a little looking around and it seemed like Ardour would be a good fit, but trying to find tutorials on how to use it has been complicated. It also doesn't just seem right for what I'm trying to do. Any suggestions?

Be unique.
Play the saxophone with your butthole.

start with the light versions of studio one, cubase, logic, pro tools, reaper,...
for the beginning that will be enough for you. once you get the hang of it you can either download pro versions or buy them or whatever!

Scavenge around torrent sites and you likely will be able to find patched DAW's that you should find suitable for your needs.
