i feel like i'm very bad when it comes to thinking about meeting girls i could date at places where i meet new people, do you set expectations like that?
i can't stop having fantasies because i'm going some place i'm very interested in soon, and since i don't go out much i create flawed expectations about meeting somebody there, also i'm sick and can't think well so i'm asking for input

High quality girls are already married anon. And girls too young to be married are in long term relationships. The fact you arent with such girl is because you arent as big catch as you are. Lower your standards.
Other options with dating are social events you hate and friends friends. Amd whatever you do, remember that dating is luck based and you need shitton of luck to meet compatible girl or shitton of patience and endurance.
Good luck!

man, that sucks, i wonder now what life would have been if i didn't have to deal with a shitty family, maybe i would have approached the girls that showed interest in me, maybe i'd have one to keep...
well whatever, thank you for your words, i'll just do me and see where it goes

Stop giving yourself opportunities to think about it and get out there in any way possible, even before you go to that new place. Haunt a local coffee shop, join any local community thing, volunteer, etc. Also I am not a doctor, but I hear 5-HTP can help soothe approach anxiety, which is what you are going into overdrive with by obsessing over what might be. Just only use it the morning you are going to go out and meet people so you don't set a new baseline for a psychological dependency.
