>go to Vegas for my 24th birthday, first time EVER doing a birthday weekend
>friends were broke, didn't want to do anything
>got impression that for them, showing up was enough
>they say it was because plans were changed last minute (by me, which was true) so they spent some money on other stuff like bills as a result
>example: I'm ready to leave one night, telling everyone let's go
>go upstairs to brush my teeth
>come back down, one guy is playing a video game with his brother
>they won't get up till game is over
>bring this up later, they admit it was rude but still defend the friend, "oh he hadn't seen his brother in a while"
Do I just have shitty friends? Or am I to blame too?

Well of course you are a bit to blame, they are too, of course. Next time if you decided to stay with these friends go somewhere that doesn't require money to do almost everything, or is relatively cheap

Well, it's my birthday so I wanted to do something cool. The universe doesn't revolve around me, but every other friend in the group always gets to do what they want on their birthday, no complaints or flaking or people being deadbeats. I'm always down too, people can count on me

>People in their mid 20's having no money / living paycheck to paycheck.
I have a ton of friends like this. A lot of them make more money than I do. It's pathetic.

It's not when you live in a city where studios go for $1500/month minimum but jobs don't pay any higher compared to rest of nation
