I have one week to study & get my permit, then zoom into grabbing my license since I'm already 18+. I'm thinking, 30 minutes per day would work.
Then comes driving. Give me driving tips.

Drive with your parents as much as possible, and study till the knowledge rests in your mind. But for real. Offer to drive for any occasion
a beer before always settles my nerves
In my country, we're told to take a lot of short trips, instead of few long ones. If you have the money, consider professional lessons.

Yeah, I was thinking of not wearing a seatbelt and texting my friends while I drive 3 miles above the designated speedlimit just to make things more exciting, c'mon person.

What's wrong with stick? You're just shifting the gears, right?

I got my license in 3 weeks when I was 18. Prior to that I had driven just a little bit when I was 15. If you are in the US you usually don't have to do any driving to get a permit. They'll ask you to identify a couple road signs, do a vision test, and a take short quiz with questions on driving scenarios. At least that's how mine went.
For driving, just go around neighborhoods or empty parking lots to get a feel for the cars steering, braking, gas, etc. Practicing during the evening is best because there are less cars out but still some sunlight, and 30mins to an hour a day is fine.
If there are multiple DMVs in your area ask around if they are any different. I went to a different DMV than my brother did and my driving test was way easier. Took like 5 minutes, just went around an empty street and a private neighborhood.

Stick is a little bit advanced and sometimes you can stall the engine and fuck up. Learn how to drive first, then learn stick.
