Going to Las Vegas for the first time this weekend with 3 other guys for my best friend's bachelor party. We will be there Thursday night through Tuesday afternoon, staying in the Flamingo. As of right now, we are planning on seeing a show Saturday night, and a show Monday night, as well as exploring the strip and Freemont, Ellis Island, and gambling at some casinos. We also plan on visiting a dispensary for edibles, now that recreational marijuana is legal for adults. I was trying to find any additional advice for cool stuff to do from perhaps locals or people that have been there. Our budget is relatively limited, so budget-friendly events would be great :) Thank you for any help!

Do you arrive tomorrow night?

Anyways, the Flamingo has some shitty rooms, and some renovated ones. I don't really have any tips for getting one of the nicer ones, but I'd think since you have a five night stay, you have a better chance of being upgraded to some better rooms. I work for Caesars Entertainment, and we're aware that the rooms need a full remodel... but that's going to be done long after you leave.

Totally outside of gambling, the Flamingo has a really legit pool area. Even if you don't want to hop in and get wet, they have an awesome central area with flamingos, a koi pond, and enough to go out and get a breath of fresh air while you carry your beer around for 15 minutes or so. It's one of the oldest continuing properties on the Strip (through renovations and different owners), but still historical.

I'm gonna keep posting a bunch of shit because I'm bored, so bear with me over a couple of posts.

The Flamingo leaks out into the LINQ Promenade, where you have a lot of different options. If you want beer pong and drinking, O'Shea's is right there, and has a cool feel. Right next door is Off The Strip for breakfast/brunch, which I love as a local, but they also have Hash House a Go Go inside, which is good for crazy late night eats. While you're on the promenade, hit up the High Roller, which is the big ferris/observation wheel out there. You can get people on for a 30 minute happy hour, which is endless drinks as you go around the loop and get a great shot of the Strip (It's really gonna be 2-3 drinks max, but it's still cool).

Outside of your little area, Caesars Palace is right across the street...

Caesars is cool but a little more upscale. If you want to roll in there and look at the cool shit, it's really nice. The Forum Shops have a free animatronic show over by the Abercrombie & Fitch there, but it's a little dated. Still, it's free, and happens every 30 minutes or whatever.

Since you're gonna be center Strip, check out the Bellagio fountains for a minute, walk around with some booze... try to buy shit from a 7-11 or something instead of the bar unless you're gambling. You can carry booze around on the Strip (but not in cabs or Ubers).

CityCenter/Cosmopolitan is gonna be a place worth walking into to see modern, high-end Vegas. Cosmo has some cool things, like their Chandelier bar, great architecture, and some of the hottest women you'll ever see if you just stand by the line to Marquee.

At Chandelier Bar, go to the 2nd floor (1.5) and they serve the Verbena, which is a dope drink that includes chewing on a special flower that makes the citrusy flavor stand out while your tongue tingles and goes numb. Then there's Secret Pizza on the 3rd floor, for legitimately delicious New York style pizza by the slice, with PBRs and all. It's hidden down a hallway with no signage, but they have pinball in there, and you can sit outside of the place and grub down.

Thank you so much! And yes, we do get in tomorrow night.

The city just expands and expands though... there's so much cool shit, and so much to do here. The drink at the Cosmopolitan is probably the most expensive thing I've recommended so far. And I've just been recommending what you can see in a couple of minutes of walking distance from your hotel.

Ellis Island is going to offer you the best odds near the Strip... it's a little smoky, but it's fun, and where I used to go when I was 18 and had a fake ID.

Getting "downtown," meaning to Fremont, is probably more of a journey than you think, but with 4 dudes you can probably squeeze into an Uber, and head down there. There's better odds if you're gambling, but they're mostly a little older. I'd go north of Fremont (not too far) and check out some of the bars there, which have a cool local hipster vibe, and some better food.

Anyways, I'm burnt out on this, I hope I helped... I'll be around for questions for a bit if you've got any.
