I always thought it was possible. So many articles in the internet claim: "all bacteria get digested by the stomach acid."
But why do we have yogurt then, why probiotics and why do we wash handy before eating

Anybody with IBS ever thought about faecal transplantation ?

when you eat ass (and medically you probably shouldn't) it has to be so fucking clean it would pass a health inspection. That means scrubbing for a good 3 minutes in the shower, bending over, getting all in the folds of the anus.

Now, rimming someone isn't going to cure your IBS. However, there is such a thing as a fecal transplant that can help restore normal gut bacteria.

However, OP, this is not IBS.

You just returned from a trip to asia and are now complaining of stomach pain. I know this will not make sense to you as a non-medical professional, but that cannot cause irritable bowel syndrome, at least not in the sense that IBS is the primary cause. It's effectively a non-diagnosis, saying 'your stomach feels bad and we don't know why'. Because you just got back from asia, that means you almost certainly have one of a thousand different GI infections or parasites, for which there are treatments that don't involve eating fecal bacteria. Get yourself to a gastrointerologist immediately.

sorry I forgot to mention that. I came back from Asia a few years ago with a GI infection and took antibiotics. Since then I have IBS. It is diagnosed by a doctor.

If you've had IBS since the trip, and the onset of symptoms correlated specifically with the trip, you need a second opinion. The fact that you acquired it there means you picked up a bug, and it's possible there's a better trained doc who knows what to test for.
